Dr. Giora Griffel received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering/Applied Physics from Tel Aviv University in 1989. Shortly after, he moved to the US and became a post-doctoral research fellow with the California Institute of Technology (CALTECH), Pasadena, CA. Prior to joining Metronet Systems, Inc as a CTO, Dr. Griffel served as an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Brooklyn, New York.
In 1999, after receiving an SBIR grant he left the university to start his own high-tech consulting company. The work of Dr. Griffel with Sarnoff Corporation, Princeton, NJ (formerly David Sarnoff Research Center/ RCA Labs), played a significant role in the spin off of Princeton Lightwave Inc. In 2000 Dr. Griffel joined Princeton Lightwave as a Senior Scientist and R&D leader. In 2004 he left Princeton Lightwave and became the CEO of Guide Lines Communication, Inc. He serves as a board member of the South Brunswick YMCA.
